Installation of a 33 KV Switchyard and 3.3 KV Substation at Gua Ore Mines

Scope of Work

Our team is executing a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade at Gua Ore Mines to enhance the facility’s power management and operational efficiency. Key deliverables include:

Development of Transformer Bays

  • Construction and commissioning of two transformer bays.
  • Integration of advanced Control and Relay Panels for effective power distribution.
Structural Supply and Erection
  • Fabrication and installation of gantry structures and equipment support frameworks.
  • Provision of ACSR conductors, aluminum bus tubes, and ancillary components to establish a robust, fully operational switchyard.

Transformers Installation

SITC (Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning) of two 33-11/3.3kV, 5 MVA ONAN outdoor duty power transformers.

Temporary Transformer Connection

Seamless temporary integration of an existing 1.6MVA 33/3.3kV transformer during the shutdown of the 33kV bus of HN-16.

Efficiency Upgrades

Replacement of outdated 33kV bus tubes with new EHIPS aluminum bus tubes, enhancing durability and electrical performance.

Substation Construction Development of a state-of-the-art substation building equipped with:
  • A 3.3kV indoor HT switchboard.
  • A 3.3kV/415V, 200kVA dry-type auxiliary transformer.
  • A 415V AC Distribution Board (ACDB).
  • DC systems including Battery Bank, Battery Charger, and DC Distribution Board (DCDB).

Double Pole Structures Installation

Deployment of necessary double pole (DP) structures with Air Break Switches (ABS) to ensure reliable operation.

High-Voltage Cable Installation

Supply, laying, and commissioning of 3.3kV HT power cables for seamless power transmission.

This project was successfully completed, delivering a cutting-edge power infrastructure solution that significantly improved the efficiency and reliability of operations at Gua Ore Mines.
