The project involves the execution of comprehensive Electrical and Instrumentation Works for the Permanent Water Supply Scheme at NTPC Koldam Township. The scope of work includes the supply, laying, and commissioning of power and control cables, installation of motor starter panels, LT distribution boards, lighting systems, and instrumentation for monitoring flow, level, and pressure in multiple pump houses. The project is located in Koldam, Himachal Pradesh, and has an approximate cost of 1.65 crores.

Detailed Scope of Work

Power Cable Supply and Laying

  • Supply and laying of 1.1 KV Grade Extruded XLPE Insulated Power Cables (4Cx120 sq. mm and 4Cx35 sq. mm Aluminium) conforming to IS-7098 (Part-1: 1988).
  • Total length of cables to be supplied: 2500 meters (4Cx120 sq. mm) and 1250 meters (4Cx35 sq. mm).
  • Cable laying in existing/new cable trays, trenches, ducts, conduits, or on the surface as per site conditions.

Control and Instrumentation Cable Supply and Laying

  • Supply and laying of control and instrumentation cables for various pump houses.
  • Use of screened type copper cables with a minimum of 25-30% spare cores.

Motor Starter Panels and LT Distribution Boards

  • Design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of Type-A, Type-B, and Type-C Motor Starter Panels.
  • Supply, erection, and commissioning of Type-A, Type-B, and Type-C LT Distribution Boards (Indoor and Outdoor).

Lighting, Outlet & Earthing Systems

  • Supply and installation of LED lights, ceiling fans, exhaust fans, receptacles, and MCB DBs in pump houses.
  • Earthing and lightning protection systems, including chemical earthing pits and lightning arrestors.

Instrumentation Works

  • Supply, Installation of level transmitters, digital level indicators, float switches, flow meters, and pressure gauges in pump houses.
  • Automation and interlocking of pumps based on tank levels for efficient water supply management.
Mandatory Spares and Trial Operation
  • Supply of mandatory spares for all equipment.
  • Trial operation of the integrated system for one month prior to handover to NTPC.
