Challenges and Solutions

Hilly Terrain and Accessibility
- Challenge: The project site is located in a hilly area, making accessibility and transportation of materials challenging.
- Solution: Employed specialized all-terrain vehicles and ensured proper planning for material transportation. Conducted site visits to understand the terrain and plan logistics accordingly.

Coordination with Civil Works
- Challenge: Overlapping and inter-related works with the civil agency required meticulous coordination.
- Solution: Established regular coordination meetings with the civil agency to synchronize activities and resolve any issues promptly. Ensured that all field instruments and cable entry points were installed as per the civil agency’s requirements.

Safety and Environmental Concerns
- Challenge: Ensuring safety in a hilly terrain with potential environmental impacts.
- Solution: Implemented stringent safety protocols, including the use of high-quality safety gear and adherence to NTPC’s safety regulations. Conducted regular safety audits and training for workers. Minimized environmental impact by following best practices for excavation and cable laying.

Quality Assurance
- Challenge:: Ensuring the quality of materials and workmanship in a remote location.
- Solution: Conducted pre-dispatch inspections (PDI) for all critical components. Submitted manufacturing quality plans (MQP) and field quality plans (FQP) for NTPC’s approval. Ensured that all materials and components were sourced from reputable manufacturers and tested at independent NABL accredited labs.
