Project Scope

Technisys Engineering was responsible for executing multiple tasks related to the electrical infrastructure and substation works at Bhilai Steel Plant. The scope of the work covered various components to enhance operational efficiency and ensure the proper functioning of critical electrical systems.

SITC of Electrical Equipment: Installation, testing, and commissioning (SITC) of key electrical components such as transformers, 11 KV ICOG panels, LT switchboards, cables, bus ducts, and ventilation systems.

Civil Construction: The construction of a dedicated civil building for housing electrical equipment, along with the development of access pathways to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Cable Laying: Laying approximately 5500 meters of HT cables and 11,000 meters of LT cables to establish the necessary power supply infrastructure. 

  • Overhead Bridge Construction: The construction of an overhead bridge and laying of cables through the railway track for seamless connectivity and safety.

Ventilation System: Installation of ventilation systems for the substation buildings, ensuring adequate airflow, safety, and environmental control within the substations.

Dismantling of Existing Infrastructure: Removal and dismantling of Substations 9B and 9H, as well as the decommissioning of outdated Russian breakers, ensuring an upgraded and modernized electrical system.

Managing logistics and scheduling due to the complex integration of electrical systems across multiple stages of the plant.

Maintaining strict adherence to safety and environmental guidelines.s.

Coordinating with ongoing operations at Bhilai Steel Plant to minimize downtime.

Challenges Overcome

The successful completion of the project has resulted in improved electrical reliability and enhanced capacity for the Bhilai Steel Plant.
